You're right, she should be an option. Is there some way to change that? _________________ Are you an O.C. fan? If you are, go to http://www.savincoop.com to help save Marissa. I know it sounds lame, but do what you can. |

It was definitely Soundgarden for me.
But you have so many hard rock bands as choices. I don't think this is the right board for such a poll.
And judging from the ages of some of the posters here, a portion of the board was in diapers when those bands were popular. _________________ My top 5 RK songs: 1. My Slumbering Heart 2. Spectacular Views 3. Capturing Moods 4. Emotional 5. It's a Hit |

i hate to be my usual ragging self, but can you say cliche list? atleast half of the bands listed are on every 90s list. It's such a downer _________________ got everything that you want, but do you get what you need in life..its the only thing that matters you see |

I'm only 16, so I was in diapers, too, actually. I post at a Smashing Pumpkins message board, and this poll came up. Obviously the Pumpkins wasn't an option, 'cause if you're at a Pumpkins message board, then the Pumpkins are definitley going to win. So, I was just curious and wanted to see if the Pumpkins would win out.
So yeah, not really MY list. _________________ Are you an O.C. fan? If you are, go to http://www.savincoop.com to help save Marissa. I know it sounds lame, but do what you can. |

Dookie probably holds it's place in my book as one of my top three albums i've ever heard.
Now, i don't listen to Green Day much anymore (if at all really) but i listened the hell out of that CD when it came out. _________________ Baby, if you were here we'd increase the dose. |

Ughh... I posted above that it isn't really MY list. So just go up a couple posts and read that for an explanation. Stop freaking out, people. _________________ Are you an O.C. fan? If you are, go to http://www.savincoop.com to help save Marissa. I know it sounds lame, but do what you can. |

A poll like this should really be open-ended. Especially with a topic as subjective as music there really can't be a concensus about favorite band of all the 90s bands.
More of the smaller 90s bands were some of my favorites. Blake Babies, Letters To Cleo, Belly (as aforementioned), and Dance Hall Crashers are some bands I remember more than most of the bands on your list. _________________ "Right is right even if no one does it, and wrong is wrong even if everyone does it."

I have a hard time listening to anything from the 90's nowadays. It was in my heyday, which probably means I hated high school or something.
But at one time I did like the above bands (with a few exceptions). And I loved The Cranberries, Live, The Breeders, Frente!, and Weezer. _________________ it can get better if you try |

I caught the Dance Hall Crashers live way back in the 90's. Fun fun fun band. Always thought of them as a local band (nor cal native here), and was excited to see them gain some notoriety throughout the 90's. I guess they're still together (according to their website which I looked up for the first time a few minutes ago), would love to see them again. Good to see their name pop up every now and then.

I almost made a comment about Modest Mouse being on here, but then I went to amazon.com and found out how many releases they had in the 90's. Many of those albums I thought came in the 2000's, but they were just reissues. _________________ My username is apexsensation. But you can call me Jason if you'd like.

i never asked why YOU put it there, although, as a list you didn't make, you seem quite sensitive about it. _________________ WOO HA<GOTCHOO ALL IN CHECK |

I think I answered Nirvana, because in my opinion, being in junior high/high school in the 90s they were very influential... at least for that time period (grunge, blah blah blah, etc). But really in the 90s I was listening to a lot of whiny girl rock like Alanis Morrisette and Sarah McLachlan and other Lilith Fair alumni. But I was a teenage girl so of course everything in life was depressing. |

Me too, but most of their best stuff was in the 80s. I went with Sonic Youth from this list. _________________ "When God gave us mirrors....he had no idea...."

very good answer.
it's incredible to me what a short memory people have. Nirvana permanantly changed the world of music. Not that they were the first, (they would be the first to admit the influence of Sonic Youth) and not necessarily that they were the best (the first two Smashing Pumpkins albums may be the pinacle of punk rock), but because of all the people they influenced by being the first punk band to be the most popular band in world. Music has never been the same. |

Exactly. I remember I was in 7th grade when Kurt Cobain died and a lot of people were messed up a long time because of it. I think he connected with a whole generation of youth all around the world. |

Nirvana is still overrated to me. Obviously there is no denying their impact, but still it's not THAT great. Let the guy go out in peace. _________________ got everything that you want, but do you get what you need in life..its the only thing that matters you see |
