i've had certain strange dreams for a few years now. my dream world is very weird at the moment. it's impossible to describe dreams. you can describe what happens in them, but it's never possible to convey how they actually make you feel. _________________ i'm skipping like a stone / just a couple skips then gone |

last night i dreamed that i was jane eyre returning to thornfield, but my old friend from elementary school who i haven't seen forever was there as a servant or something, so i guess i was myself as well. and she told me that she'd gotten in trouble for doing coke, and there was something about automatic garage doors, so it was weird and modern. yeah, i laughed when i woke up. _________________ everybody loves the sound of a train in the distance.

hmmm... I dunno if you wanna go there with my dreams; I don't dream often but when I do they're really long and cinematic and I can't wake up from them... which is kinda bad when it comes to nightmares. But last night was weird because it was one of those rare random dreams that are short and don't have any meaning...
last night, I dreamt that my brother jesse shot george bush and was escaping cross-country on his bike... and that's the jist of it lol. _________________ The quill from a buzzard, the blood writes the word, I want to know: Am I the sky or a bird?

ohh geez.
i get the cuh-razzziest dreams.
same with my mom.
liiiike.
when i was little, i had a dream that a life-sized doll we owned came to life and ran around our front yard while i tried to chase her.
and.
this year.
i had a dream that i told everyone in my grade that our 8th grade promotion was at my house.
and i was standing by our front door wearing my dress and waiting for people.
my dress was really something like a sheet or toga or something.
but only one person showed up. it was this one guy that i really like. his name is Mitchell. :]
anyway.
so i went to my moms closet to find my shoes.
and when i opend the door and bent down, i saw that a mini MC Chris was in my closet and he yelled at me cause he was in the middle of a show.
(sorry about all the talk of MC lately....)
and so i left and went into my kitchen.
i saw that Mitchell had fallen asleep on my table.
which is weird cause hes close (or is) 6' and our table is only, like, 3.5 feet long. hah.
then i woke up.
uhm.
i cant remember anymore really weird ones.
i rarely remember my dreams.
but if i get one, i pinky promise to post.

| One time I had a dream that I was bank teller, like at a drive-through window, and I only had nickels. All these people kept wanting to withdraw huge amounts, and I'd have to count out, like, $500 in nickels. |

I had one the other night where there were crocodiles in my back yard and it prevented me from getting back inside. It was like those scary movies where the killer is running after the potential victim and the potential victim (me) struggled with the lock and couldn't get in the door. _________________ My username is apexsensation. one time last year i had a dream that conor oberst killed himself, and it was really upsetting... then i told my friend about it, and she said that she had dreamed that she'd paid someone to kill conor and make it look like a suicide. she might have just been making this up 'cause she's the kind of person who might make something up because it's interesting, but if not, that's pretty crazy. _________________ everybody loves the sound of a train in the distance.

I had a dream last night that I was a passenger on train getting robbed by gang of train thieves. The weird aspect of this dream was apparently these train thieves were super-powered, yet their haul totalled only like $2000 total. But they acted like it was some big score.
Later, when they had stranded the train and all its passengers out in the middle of apparently the African Plains amidst the lions, gazelle, and ilk, the passengers (including me) had the bright idea to burn the train for warmth and to keep the beasts away. As the train erupted into flames, it called the attention of other thieves (this time non-super-powered) who proceeded to try and rob us again.
That's when I said we'd all already been robbed and that these new thieves might have better luck robbing the old thieves. Keeping to myself the fact that the original thieves were super-powered, I basically sent the new thieves to their deaths.
I remember that gave me some kind of satisfaction--if I had to be out some moolah at least somebody could die for it.
More inexplicably, the police later found the dead bodies of the new thieves, arrested the old thieves using the old painted cliff to look like a tunnel trick made famous by Wile E. Coyote, and returned everyone's money and belongings.
All in all, it turned out to be a very exciting dream. _________________ "Right is right even if no one does it, and wrong is wrong even if everyone does it."

...At what other time other than when you are sleeping would you have crazy dreams?
Anyway, I recently had the most disturbing dream. We have a third bedroom in our apartment that never gets used; I dreamt that we had a roommate who lived in that room and we woke up to police working the crime scene - apparently she'd been murdered in her sleep and there was blood everywhere. Needless to say, I was scared shitless, and I was whispering to my boyfriend while we were in bed (still too scared to get out for some reason) that we need to move. Apparently, this was our second murdered roommate - we had another one who got killed the same way, only on the back deck. (I was going to post this in the random thoughts thread, but then I wondered if there was an existing thread about dreams.)
I had a dream that Ben Gibbard lived a block away from my house and that I was the only one who seemed to know he was there/who he was. I drove by (already seeming to know he lived there) and said hi and that I would come over a little after I got home.
He was sitting in a chair in his yard with random junk around in the yard, had a beard and an old, beat up brown van in the driveway. I think he was like, hiding out from the fame and he ended up a block from me. But he didn't seem annoyed that I knew who he was and I wasn't planning on telling anyone.
I woke up before I went over to his house, but I think I was planning on talking to him about what he thinks of the new Rilo Kiley album.
P.S. The title of this thread is bugging me. Someone please edit it to say "you've." _________________ I am flawed if I'm not free |

I had a near-drowning experience in high school.
Since that time, I have obviously been scared to swim, and shortly after the incident, I started having recurring nightmares about it.
Well, I decided recently that I wanted to try to do a mini triathlon to get over this fear. It's this coming weekend. I feel like I've progressed a lot this summer, and although I'm not deathly afraid of water like I used to be, I still get REALLY nervous going in it.
Anyways, I think that the anxiety of thinking about this triathlon is really gettting to me because i had the nightmare a few nights ago for the first time in almost a year.
In the dream, I am suddenly underwater in the ocean. I don't know how I got there, but there I am. I am struggling to get my head out of the water because I'm already out of breath, but some unidentifiable force is keeping me under. I start to panic and flail, which makes things worse because I swallow and inhale a bunch of salt water. I literally feel like I'm going to die because I've been under water for an eternity. I decide to stop struggling when suddenly I wake up.
This time when I had the nightmare, I actually woke up choking and with tears streaming from the corners of my eyes. I was sooo worked up that it took me a minute before I realized it was a dream, and even then, it took me a minute before I could calm down. |

I always have war-related dreams, which I put down to my DVD/Blook habits. Oddly romantic dreams, as in the kind of 'shite book you buy for $7 before getting on an aeroplane' romance. Sometimes, you can have both war, and love. _________________ the good times are coming. |

Wow, that's incredible that you're facing your fears so boldly! That's great! I hope you enjoy your triathlon!
There's this girl I hate because we were close but then she fucked me over and she has ignored me ever since. So I dreamed I was walking in the school hallway and she started walking next to me, without acknowledging me, and I had just had enough so I decked her. It felt great! I wish I could do that in reality. We'll see... _________________ "Indeed, a pineapple is what Sennett would be if he were a fruit: it's 'kinda ugly, but kinda delicious'." |

I fell asleep listening to the turtle rock ep. and a week ago I read something about Ryan Adams + Courtney Love + Coke or something like that.
I've only heard like 1 or 2 songs by Ryan so it was weird having him in my dream. even weirder was having this weird interpretation of Shelma that I conjured up from her voice.
She had long bangs and tattoos and stylish raggedy clothes.
So it stars out in a groovy bar. Ryan Adams is sitting there with an acoustic and plays every song that Shelma has ever released.
Shelma is sitting at the bar and says
"You missed one."
Ryan says "Which one?"
"Youuuu know which one."
Then Ryan starts playing two headed boy.
He serenades her.
Then everything fades and it turns into a black & white film.
I'm in a high speed chase on horseback after a woman. I tell her that Chicago is the other way and we begin our journey from Texas to Chicago on horse back. All of a sudden it turns into some kind of reality show like the amazing race. People are scrambling around then I wake up. |

Like anyone I've had my fair share of strange dreams in my life, but at the moment I really want to know what it means to dream about burning down a house with a former professor and her husband (and I think it was actually their house that we were burning down. For insurance or something). I'm actually reading her husband's newest novel right now, but I'm not sure how that led to dreaming about arson. _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/ligeres |

I had a really scary one about trying to suffocate a friend with a pillow case. Apparently they knew something that I didn't want them to. I stopped just short and asked for my forgiveness.
God I never want to be in that situation. |

My dream experiences have become amazing the last few months.
Something that I was never able to do in my life changed. I now know in the majority of my dreams, while they are happening, that I am dreaming.
Knowing that I am dreaming, it allows me to change the dream into a direction that I want it to go. I can totally erase what is going on and create the dream that I want.
It's like being a director or artist that can instantly produce perfection to their vision.
I spend most of that power in having fun times with deceased relatives and friends, but I also get selfish at times and make scenarios where I'm the most powerful/likable person in the world with the most gorgeous woman ever.
Our subconscious mind is so much more in tune with our existence than what it allows our conscious mind to grasp.
Sorry for the weird post, but it's really made me think about so many levels of who we are/can be if we were able to tap into all regions of our brain. |

I've been trying really hard the past few months to do exactly this.
Lucid Dreaming. They have a ton of books and website on learning techniques. I've never dedicated myself to it enough though.
Think about how much time we spend sleeping...wouldn't it be great if we could use it.

I've only known of lucid dreaming as something that one of my friends talked about years ago. I thought it was strange and never attempted to try and get there. My lucid dreams have come naturally and seemingly out of nowhere, I think.
Controlling your dreams is great when doing it, but when you awake, it leads to so many puzzling questions. |
