Super Bowl Sunday coming up....Packers-Steelers.

Who are you all rooting for? What are your plans?

As an NFC guy, and someone tired of the Steelers always winning trophies, I'm definitely rooting for the Pack.

I don't really have any plans set in stone, but I won't be going to a big party or anything. I've always watched it with my brother no matter the circumstance, so that will happen again most likely. My father's a Steelers fan, so when they're in it, we usually get together with him.

Starting to think about the most important part....the food!!!

To be honest, I'm a typical "doesn't follow football" girl, but I'm rooting for the Packers mostly because I graduated high school with the kicker...have to support my hometown!!

I don't really have a dog in the fight, but as a Niners fan I still have a lot of residual hate for the Packers going back to the days when the Packers/Niners was an annual playoff matchup. So, I'd rather see the Steelers win, and the objective sports fan in me thinks Pitt will crush the Packers (particularly if Polamalu is healthy). They're better coached, clutch, and that defense is just plain fierce. A lot of GB's success late in the season was predicated on their run game getting in going, and you just don't run on the Steelers. Rodgers is going to get sacked like crazy.

As for food, I usually pick up some wings, maybe some guacamole and salsa, and some bourbon.

I also agree about some Super Bowl parties sucking if they're filled with passive football "fans". Sometimes it's cool to see those people get hoooked on football when a great game transpires though (like the Pitt/Zona game that went down to the wire).

I think the best Superbowl party I'd ever heard about was my former boss'. Every year he said he'd order five hundred wings and fifty large pizzas. I don't know how many people were invited each year, but it was just the kind of thing where friends could bring their friends and so on.

Plus, there was more than enough beer and spirits that even the non-football fans got into the game. LOL

I GET TO WATCH THE SUPER BOWL. I convinced the director of my show, a.k.a. my professor and the chair of our theatre department, to cancel rehearsal on Sunday for the game. I am, as they say, made of win right now.

In non-Super Bowl news, my Eagles have named their offensive line coach as their new defensive coordinator.

Let me repeat so it sinks in a bit...they have named their OFFENSIVE LINE COACH as their new DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR.

WTF?? I've never heard of such a strange move. I'm stunned.

This is always my favorite NFL weekend of the year. I'm rooting for the 49ers, Broncos, Texans, and Packers.

That Niner game last night was one of the most heartbreaking sporting events I have ever watched. That fumble in OT was pretty much a kick straight to the nuts. I enjoy being a devoted sports fan, but sometimes I envy those people that can just shrug their shoulders and move on after a big loss. I mean, I can't even turn on ESPN today.

Then the none fumble call when the Giants lost one.

Except for the two Vernon Davis plays, though, our passing game was pretty ridiculous. I don't know why we totally gave up the run on the last few possessions. Gore was churning and the misdirection plays to Hunter were working big time.

I feared Manning because he is so clutch. The Niners pass rush was huge in throwing him off. I wish they would have blitzed more because they got instant pressure when they did.

The Giants clearly had a better passing game. I was wondering who Chuck was rooting for - Rep the NFC East, or hate on the Giants for Philly rivalry.
