Okay so I have been hearing alot of people ripping on the lineup for Coachella this year. I'm asking this because I personally feel like the lineup this year is far better than lineups in recent years, in fact, I actually want to go this year. But people are ripping it to shreds. I am excited for the following:

Blur
The Stone Roses
Yeah Yeah Yeah's
Modest Mouse
Lou Reed
Grizzly Bear
Tegan & Sara
Metric
Infected Mushroom
Lee Scratch Perry
Eric Prydz
Benny Benassi
THE POSTAL SERVICE (srsly? ripping on a 2013 bill with The Postal Service?)
Sigur Ros
Simian Mobile Disco
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
The Faint
Major Lazer
Vampire Weekend
La Roux
Dinosaur Jr.
New Order
Dead Can Dance
OMD
Moby

And that's just glancing at it. I haven't really even zoomed into the super tiny names. I love all of these artists and some of them are damn near legendary. I honestly don't see what is so lame about the lineup? I think its awesome. Thought? No Clue

EDIT: I just looked at the 2012 lineup. I am utterly appalled that people are calling this lineup shit after that lineup last year.

I've never done Coachella, and I'm pretty leery of multi-day festivals at this point in my concert-going career, but my interest was piqued by the Sunday lineup. I saw Red Hot Chili Peppers, Social Distortion, and Wu Tang, and thought, "Yes, please." That would be pretty fucking boss to see those three bands in one day (knowing festivals though, they are probably all playing against each other on different stages).

Seeing Modest Mouse and Lou Reed on the lineup gave me a good chuckle. I saw them play on the same day of Bumbershoot back in 2002 in Seattle. Some things never change.

Honestly, I've always thought Coachella's lineup was a little lacking, but I'm not as up on what the kids are listening to I guess.

I think the reason so many people think this lineup is lame is BECAUSE they're kids. I can't remember the lineups from past years well enough to say for certain but it seems that a large number of these bands are older bands. The Stone Roses arent super well known in the US to younger kids nor is Blur and especially not Lou Reed (who is a fucking legend). Even Wu-Tang might seem a bit old to alot of 18 year olds. Social D is old as well. Now again, maybe older bands are a staple of Coachella but I just remember it being more modern acts with maybe a few big name old bands. I feel like this years there's alot of old-school shit goin on in this lineup.

I LOVE the line-up. Of course, I'm old so it should be expected.

im not going, and i probably would never go. but the bands i would be super stoked to see would be:

yeah yeah yeahs, lou reed, metric, japandroids, stars

postal service, descendents, dropkick murphys,

social d, wu-tang, grimes, gaslight anthem,

and thats about it really. i broke it up by day. So even if i lived in the area, i probably wouldn't go.

I knew it must be a "young" thing to bitch about such an amazing lineup. I would say about 85% of my favorite artists are at least 25 years old so for me this lineup is unbelievable. I'm sure there were lots of 18 year olds out there going "Who? Who? Who?"

Coachella is one of my favorite music festivals. The multiple arrangements allow us to listen to different genres at single place and enjoy the total music mania.
