Like Heather said, she may have just been frustrated or really just feeling a little weird that you had come to so many shows. HOWEVER, like Bello said - as an artist, you really would be nothing without your fans. She should have kept her game face on and at least acted professionally and gracefully.
But you see, this is what I don't get. I can understand that everyone has bad days, I really do. But I also have friends in bands and they're always very, genuinely happy when people like their music enough to follow them and come to as many gigs as possible. It's support, not stalking. And I don't think Allie ever once lacked respect towards Jenny. If Jenny wanted to be left alone, she could have just told Allie that she didn't feel comfortable writing on her arm and that she simply wanted to enjoy her evening "anonymously". Or is she turning into a diva? That "thanks for making me feel awkward" comment was SO uncalled for!
Also, as I told Allie, it seems silly on Jenny's part not to realise that many of us who like Rilo also enjoy most of their friends' music so it's not like RK/Jenny fans never go to Mike Bloom or others' concerts. _________________ "Where you stay is your own choice, how you feel is your fight." - Elizabeth Bowen

I would love to go to Mike Bloom show. Dude kicks ass. His new CD is really good. _________________ Visit me at The Walrus Speaks.

Or Jenny felt uncomfortable that this girl has been following her around and voiced how she felt. It's one thing to follow someone on tour but it's another to show up at a small venue where they are seeing their friends play and bother her there. Jenny shouldn't have to suffer in silence and continually feel awkward about a fan following her around in her own hometown. She put her foot down.
I'm kind of leaning towards this thought-from the random newb that decided to join our forum?
Nothing against ZL, from what I can tell you're very sweet and I know that you didn't want to go up to her at all that night but Jenny was probably feeling creeped out. No offense but, I would totally be. You're not from nor do you live in LA so I'm sure Jenny was probably like "are you fucking kidding me?" when she saw you.
You know, we're obviously all super RK fans but they're not really well known to the public, so I doubt that any of the band members have had to deal with stalkers or obsessed fans. I mean yeah, because Jenny is so adorable and the front woman, she's going to get the most attention and get gifts and shit from her fans. But maybe you showing up at this show really scared her. You've gotten quite a bit of attention from her so far and that's really cool of her and for you. Maybe Jenny just felt you were getting too familiar with her? IDK, it just seems so out of character for her.
After thinking through all of this however, Jenny has been in the business for how long? You're going to get some fans that cross the line (even if the fan doesn't realize it). You learn to deal with it.

Meh, at end of the day, we're all human. We all have days when we really just don't want to be fucked with. Perhaps, this was one of those days for Jenny. _________________ I'm Julie. I am the real life Daria. It's a fact I've come to accept.

I don't really think it is, though. We've been hearing for ages about her refusing to sign autographs, take pictures with people, or being weird or evasive (or even kind of rude) when people are talking to her, or try to talk to her, after gigs. As soon as I heard about this tattoo thing, I knew Jenny would be the one who wouldn't do it. So I think what we're dealing with here is more our own idealization of Jenny, or our fairy tale versions of what Jenny is or should be like rather than what she, Jenny-Lewis-the-actual-person is like. Incidentally, this is why I never particularly want to meet people I admire--I need the ideal type in my head to exist more than I need to meet the real person, who will no doubt disappoint me.

Word, Heather. You took the words out of my mouth (and phrased them much more elegantly than I would have). _________________ Do you ever look at the people in the street? Aren't you afraid of them? I am.

If we are adventurous enough to interact with these people, it can go either way. ZL met Blake, Pierre and Jason too and they lived up to their ideal type. _________________ Visit me at The Walrus Speaks.
Sure. But some of us are risk-averse. It's a personal thing--I'm not saying everyone should be like I am. In fact, I would recommend against it.
I'm the same way. I would never approach Jenny (especially now). A good huggable hero is Kimya Dawson. She'll treat you right. _________________ Visit me at The Walrus Speaks.

Jenny was actually (drunkenly) a huge bitch to me once before, too. I was lucky enough to hang out with the band after a show once, and she was in a horrible mood for a while. She ended up apologizing after her tirade, but she definitely has a rude side. Luckily I don't get offended easily, or that probably would have completely turned me off of Rilo Kiley.

bello- Yes, she had to have seen me. Daniel forced me back inside with tears running down my face and there were literally like 20 people or less there. I had to walk past her to go to the bathroom like twice. Maybe she didn't like that all Blake's friends were the one's comforting me? HA. I honestly am past the point of caring now though. Still sucks, but I don't plan on supporting her as an artist anymore.
jonesin- He changed it to "you may not know what you are, but you know what you've done" repeated, or skipped it entirely, or sang another line that I can't recall at the moment.
The SD version was... wow. I wish Tuesday had come before Sunday so I could've screamed my little heart out during that song haha.
Someone might have answered this already but the line was changed to "your back out on the road so go have some fun". _________________ http://www.myspace.com/towncalledluckey
I think ZL was alluding to earlier performances where he would omit any references to having fun and instead either repeat a line or something like that. It's interesting that the last line of the song has gone through an evolutionary process. He went from leaving it off to pouring it on, even adding, as F#Minor said, adding on a "go fuck yourself" for good measure in the San Diego clip I linked above. _________________ Visit me at The Walrus Speaks.

Tempting... really tempting, but I'm going to leave it alone. Can't say I won't be wondering whether she'll ever address it, though. That or the breakup announcement. _________________ I am flawed if I'm not free

Are you serious?
This is like a neverending nightmare I keep waking up to. I want this topic to die, I don't want to give her more of a reason to hate me. Seriously.

Ok, I thought we were still in the process of trying to figure out what went wrong. Unsurprisingly, she has not responded. =) She may be someone who doesn't even know how to see @ tweets by people she doesn't follow. _________________ click. click. see ya later.

I actually searched "@justlikezeus" after your post, and I didn't see your tweet. _________________ I am flawed if I'm not free
