I know what you mean. Bourbon drinkers know how to get down. Bill Cosby did a great standup routine about the "bourbon shuffle" you start to do after diving into some bourbon.

Mine was completely backwards then. I moved from beer to scotch to bourbon. I don't know if scotch exactly tastes like water to me, but bourbon definitely tastes more like "me" than scotch does.

I had the (I’m hoping) wise impulse to get outta there before i got too drunk---and before I became my overly affectionate self (not abruptly---said goodbye to her friends).

So I'm in this advanced scene study class right now, and our professor is all about "finding the strongest truth" at all times. So we're doing these speeches from Hamlet, but when you perform you're not supposed to act or use the character, you make it about YOU, in that room, with the people that are there with you and whatever the fuck is up inside you. It won't be my turn for several weeks yet, but today four people went, and the last one was my Big College Heartbreak...and we spent a LOT of time on him.

Hence, I got home for my two hour lunch break between class and a cappella rehearsal and poured myself a stiff motherfucking drink.

Of course, there's the issue that I do have a cappella in an hour. And I'm the musical director. And I don't quite have a plan for what I'm doing today, and I don't really plan on stopping after this drink.

Anyone ever tried Tito's Vodka? It's nice.
