Okay guys, so we've had over a month to let this album sink in. I know the lyrics overall are pretty simple, but I think there are some good ones in there. So, what lines stick out the most to you?
So far, my favorite lyrics are:
"The clover under your feet, the shooting star in the night.
The people under your feet are shooting stars in the night.
The people, all that you meet, are living in a dreamworld."
and
"It's not as if New York City burnt down to the ground once you drove away."
And as far as lyrics from a song on the whole goes, I think "Dreamworld" wins for me. Which is interesting, because I usually love Jenny's lyrics more.
And for the heck of it, I'll add a poll, because they're always fun. _________________ I am flawed if I'm not free |

That song bores me, and I think it's because it reminds me of "Handle With Care." So I feel like I've already heard it. _________________ I am flawed if I'm not free |

really? for some reason, her singing it alone is what gets me. sometimes i just want her voice. and the ending is.. well, i relate. "i've feared the best and loved the worst and insisted that i go first." |

I agree. That song is amazing and that part is probably my favorite on the album. That being said, I voted for 'Silver Lining'. The opening lines are just so perfect and beautiful, and I love the 'And the grass, it was a-tickin' etc' verse as well. _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/HighOnSunday51/ |

Every time I listen to any Rilo Kiley music, I hear something new. Even on the older stuff, there's something going on that I'd missed before. So, was listening to UTB a few times over the weekend and the lyrics in The Angels Hung Around just smacked me heavy. _________________ All I need are some tasty waves, cool buzz and I'm fine. |

Give A Little Love has my vote all the way. The lyrics of that song perfectly reflect a situation i'm in right now. My favorite part is "i keep you close in my wildest dreams. My rearview mirror, and you're waving to me." Not to mention her voice is heavenly on that part.
In a close second would be "Close Call". The line "funny thing about money for sex, you might get rich but you die by it" reminds me of when a friend of mine had money for sex pretty often. Its pretty much what I said to them. _________________ Love me, hate me, say what you want about me. But all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy. |

Even though I think 'Silver Lining' is the best track from UTB, I voted for 'Dejalo' even if Jenny did mess up the spanish, haha.
She sleeps on your right side/ She gets nailed. I get tied/ I sleep on your left side/ 'hundred ways to keep love alive/ |
