You're not alone. I hear it, too.

Likewise, I hear heap of sins

Yeah, it's totally "heap of sins".

I definitely hear heaped with sins or heap of sins

How do you knowwwwwwww? I definitely hear "he could sense" every time I listen to it, no matter how hard I try to hear something else.

Is there a live version you could point me to that would prove you right?

I don't know how anyone could hear 'he could sense'. I distinctly hear 'heaped WITH sins'. I've listened to it over and over. I think I'm going to play it slower to hear things better. When I know for sure, I'll post and let everyone know.

The line "He could sense her developing body was just the beginning" makes more sense to me than "She was a tiny woman, heaped with sins."

I don't know, I interpret the song as her being pretty innocent/unknowing and him being a total predator.

I wish Rilo Kiley still included lyrics in the album inserts.

Am I the only one who hears "wiped your eyes as the poured" instead of "watched your eyes as they poured" in "The Angels Hung Around"? I've tried really hard to hear "watched," but I just can't. Confused

I distinctly hear "watched". I seriously have no idea how you can hear "wiped". Both would make sense though.

The closest I hear is "watch" but I definitely not hear the "-ed" if she's saying "watched." Also, when I first listened to that part and thought it was "wiped your eyes" I was like oh wow, that's a really sad song. But then I saw lyrics websites that said "watched" and then for some reason I was like oh, that's not as sad.

When some people say things, you sometimes don't hear the last part of a word they say. I'd say this concept applies to that lyric. You can't hear her say it, but it's there. Assuming it is 'watched'...which I am pretty sure it is.

Does anyone think that the lyrics for Silver Lining could be representative of Rilo Kiley's new found success? They started as a little indie rock band in L.A. and now they are one of the most well known indie rock bands around (keep in mind, I'm referring to the indie rock community, not mainstream music).

Can anyone translate the Dejalo lyrics into English?

Tried looking online with no luck.

Is it really "but now I'm gold"?
that changes the whole meaning for me. Sad

Yeah, it is.

Just out of curiosity, what did you think it was? And what did it mean to you? I really like to hear other people interpritaion of lyrics and stuff.

My friend Jamee and I thought it was "And I was your silver lining, but now I'm gone" because we were going through terrible break ups and well...that felt more empowering than gold.

I totally thought it was "gone" at first too, but "gold" makes more sense.

Jenny's lyrics are the greatest to discover/rediscover. You can take something new from them every time.

Ex: I JUST picked up on the reference to Streetcar Named Desire in Close Call. "Hanging back with the brutes..." Wowzers, I am slow.

Dejalo simply means leave it alone
and Nuestra Cosa is literally 'our thing'

so its kind of leave our thing alone, or leave our affair alone
