I was going to say that since I'm a bigger Sarah fan, but I didn't think anyone on this forum would care. LOL My two biggest high school celebrity crushes and they were both born January 8th. For a time there I actually thought it had something to do with the date.
The fact Sarah is 30 now depresses me even more than Jenny turning 33. I remember being interested in Sarah's career when she was 4. I didn't get interested in Jenny till she was like 12 or 13.
Sarah's also the bulk of the reason I wanted to move to PEI in the first place. LOL
It's also Elvis' and David Bowie's.

my friends an i were gonna give her a scrapbook of as many fans as possible pitching in who have met her and tell their story and hopefully have pictures. we still havent put it out there but it would have been nice if we had given it on her birthday.

I can relate.
I waited by the tour bus after a Rilo show in Cleveland in 2008.
I was the right amount drunk enough to meet her and still be coherent.
As she emerged and walked toward the group of us (just a few fanatics), I actually approached her and shook her hand, telling her how great the show was-----and she was very sweet and gave me a big smile.
Then I said, “Your voice stirs up so many emotions in me”--which got a laugh from the group because of the way I said it (in my intoxicated state) and she gave me a look like “are you messing with me”. Another fan read her a poem he had written about her---which really broke the ice-----she even posed for pictures---she said she doesn’t like the way she looks after a show and usually doesn’t do it.
She stood and chatted with the group of us for a while-----I could not believe I was standing there chatting with Jenny Lewis.
I was mostly trying not to make an ass of myself---and to not be overbearing so that the other six or so people could share the moment. I asked her to play Kansas City on her upcoming solo tour. She asked if I new a nice church for her to play in---which stumped me!!!
I got a picture with her----I was so flabbergasted—it’s not very flattering of me. I was thinking “take your time with that camera” (because she pulled right up to my side as we posed----her thigh was touching mine!).
I was just struck by, for lack of a better term, her “people skills”……

Your meeting with Jenny sounded cool. Most everybody has the same 'frozen' reaction. She is always so nice to fans. I'm always impressed by people who can just relax and have a nice chat with the artist. Way to go Moople.
btw rockstonic, your blog about being in Cancun with your dad was hilarious. I get loquacious with my daughters too when buzzed, but I don't hassle them about careers or 'being the best'. Just random points of interest about the foibles of humanity. Probably quite annoying.
