That current title pisses me right the fuck off!!

lol, not really.. just trying to stay on-topic.

actually, thinking about it, I don't like having a swear in the title. somepeople might read RKnet at work, or in the company of their parents or clergymen. A few members here even have young children of their own who might be damaged emotionally at the sight of such a foul word.

howbout this for a title:
"You're really goshdarn on (a thread in which to be boisterous)"

I hadn't thought about the work/teenage thing...I guess I must be one of those darn hooligans everyone warns you about Razz I'll definitely change it to that for now because it's humorous, but I'd really like an angry RK lyric soon!

If it's going to be a complaint thread that doesn't have swear words in the title, you might want to try calling it this:

They make me sick. You make me sicker.

ugh. so i started a few weeks back trying to do the new york times crossword. and at first i sucked balls. but now i can't seem to get more than half to two thirds of it. every fucking time. its bullshit. i just spend HOURS staring at the half filled in thing. as if i'll finally figure one clue out after 30 minutes. and even when that does happen.. it never helps me with the rest of the puzzle.

crosswords suck. and i'm boisterous about it!!

Hey, gangsta mack (I want a title...), you should use your word changing magic to eliminate swearing, or really any directly negative words all together.
"Go to hell, asshole!" becomes "puppies are cute, you silly ninny!"

I wish I could make it so that anytime someone starts talking Jenny vs Blake/Elected, it all changes to "I like music!" or something.

Beth, here's some boisterous bullshit you'll appreciate... Casiotone For The Painfully Alone had a show scheduled here for 6/15 and I was all excited about it, myself being painfully alone and a fan of tones from Casios. But I noticed on the venue's site, it had another band listed. So I messaged the Casiotone dude about it on myspace hoping for clarification, and turns out after I alerted him to it, he found out the venue double booked and the show was cancelled. shit! fucking Beauty Bar douches. so now they're trying to find a house show or something, but who knows if they'll have any luck. And even if they do, it might be in the LA area and I wouldn't wanna drive all the way up for it.
so yeah. i'm sort of angry about all that.

PSA: the word cache is pronounced "cash". the dictionary will back me up on this.

I've been dying to see Casiotone For The Painfully Alone for awhile, and it's one of the reasons I started collecting vintage Casio's.

I saw he posted a bulletin on myspace. That sucks. He moved so he doesn't play here as much anymore either.

And I've never understood the use of that word in the context people use it in anyway. It means hide, so I don't understand why anyone would justify buying vinyl to me by saying it's because it's for the "cache" or similar uses. But, if they mean it in the past tense, it is pronounced cash-aye (aye said fonzie-esque of course)

you whore! you have a myspace and haven't added me? i'm heartbroken.
(ok, you're not really a whore.. it's just the boisterous thread getting me worked up.)

and past tense.. you mean cached? "cashed" or "cash-aid"?

the thing about Casiotone For The Painfully Alone is that's like my go-to music for when I'm depressed as fuck. so i imagine it would feel odd to see them live, with other people around, enjoying themselves and whatnot. yeah, but still, i was really looking forward to seeing them.

maybe I have added you. Did I mention I'm a 32 year old man?
You should just get a facebook. they're not as lame.

and I mean cache with the accent mark over it (how the fuck do people insert those things in the browser anyway) which would be pronounced like cash-aye (a la the fonze, or like cafe)

and can I add a pissed off shout out to Ms. Hilton for pulling that one off. 90% of the time I don't really give a shit about this kind of stuff but... come on now. I don't think coke withdraws count as a legit medical reason for release.

I'm all kinds of pissed off because it's impossible to get mental health services in NJ without insurance. I'm trying to get my 14 year old son some counseling for depression, and it's been weeks and weeks of calling everywhere with no one wanting to help.

Today we found someone in the school district who I thought would be helpful. I explained what the problem was on the phone, and when we came in, we explained again what was going on.

So the guy's this older guy (like sixty or so) with white hair, a 'cool' haircut and t-shirt, and a bunch of earrings in his ear, obviously trying to do the 'I'm -just - like- you -kids' thing. He gets up in my son's face and says "Are you HIGH in school? Are you DRUNK in class?"

I was so pissed off. Like school wouldn't notice, first of all, if you're in there high or drunk. And secondly.. it really helps you feel less depressed when some douchebag counselor thinks you're a drunken druggie because you're having some problems.

Needless to say, it didn't work out. Back to the drawing board. I'm running out of avenues to even try. Very frustrating.

L, have you looked into your local university? I mean, it's not cheap but in comparison it's affordable. You'd be seeing grad students and you truly are not compromising quality that much. It's like going to a beauty school and getting a $50 hair cut for $5 because they don't have a piece of paper saying they can do it yet.

That really sucks, though. I understand drug and alcohol abuse, especially at a young age, can lead to depression but I was like suicidal at that age and I was so sober it hurts. I'm just glad you're taking an active role in getting him help because my parents didn't and I really hated them for that.

I didn't even think of the university- I'm going to call our colleges tomorrow and see if I can get in touch with someone that way.

Thanks!

Wink it took me 30 seconds. copied your email from rknet (which i can see cuz i'm a mod), searched it at myspace, no good, but since your name is in the email address, it was easy to just switch to a name search, and bingo: there's a 19 year old female in Portland.
Yeah, my stalking skills are pretty sharp. I've found old friends on myspace going back to first grade. Laughing
And a couple months ago, I found a girl I had a crush on 11 years ago.. we got to talking and actually went on a date. It was pretty surreal.

I was friends with most of the people on here until my Myspace committed seppeku. 1700 people all washed away. I've lost so many contacts, numbers, addresses--it's not even funny.

Now the link just leads to Big Fun, which confounds the hell out of me.

haha, sorry Katie. ok, i think i found you (you were a bit harder to track down than Beth). maybe we need to start a new "post your myspace link" topic. of course, that's not much challenge for the stalkers. Doubt

I doubt I'll be using it much longer, but mine is myspace.com/mojoshivers, naturally. You can come visit me and my paltry four friends and spartan decor.

Thanks! If there's anybody else who doesn't like me enough to bother adding me, yet may be persuaded to accept a friend request if I'm able to successfully stalk them down, just let me know. Wink
