Hi,

Is anyone else going to this show? I just got my tickets via the presale ( http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/090048F9DEEB6A16 ).

I kinda want to relive my bright eyes Glass House experience of 03 and get there really early.

I bet there will be duets.

I just saw Jenny's post about this show and immediately came here to see who else was going...until I noticed the price. I would love to go but honestly, I was never enough of Bright Eyes/Conor fan to pay 40-50 bucks to see him, especially when my main purpose for going would be Jenny. But hey, if anyone has an extra ticket and needs the company, I'd be down.

Side question, did Glass House change their name to Fox Theater or is it a whole other venue?

its pricey but its my birthday present to myself. and i liked conor enough in high school to justify going.

the fox is a different venue pretty much on the same block. i have never been. i miss the glass house and kinda wish it was there.

In all honesty, if I lived in Los Angeles, I would go to this because although I wasn't a rabid Bright Eyes fan, there was a period where I liked them a lot (I really enjoyed Letting Off The Happiness) but the ticket prices plus the gas for the 2hr drive there and back is a bit too expensive for me unless I can be assured that Jenny will have her own set and she isn't just going to come out and do a couple duets and background vocals. :/

Originally I had plans to go to Seattle and then head back to pomona but after hearing about hardly strictly bluegrass and the solo show in sf the following night, it makes much more sense and fun to head to SF. Anyone else going to those shows?

I have seriously considered flying out just for this show. If I wasn't in the middle of planning a wedding I'd probably do it.

I'll be at Hardly, Strictly on Friday. I have ticket for another show on the evening of the 6th, but plan on doing the festival on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

It's crowded, but quite amazing overall. So many really incredible under-the-radar bands to check out in addition to the biggies. And every genre of music is there.

Any more words on this - maybe in another thread?

i'm 95% sure she is going to do her own set. she's quite popular even compared to conor oberst. she'll probably get a long opening set if i had to guess.

tiny update: 1. jenny sang w conor last night at Royce on quite a few songs. it was great. 2. Jenny just announced a show at the largo tuesday before this show in pomona.

on a related note, does anyone know about the fox theater? i read on yelp it has an early entry clause where if you go into the bar and buy foods and drinks you can get a wristband for the pit. sounds weird, but i've seen worse (wiltern!)

I've been to the Fox Theater before and have never heard of early entry. I hope that doesn't happen because I'm planning on showing up kinda early and if I don't get barricade because of that wooo I'll throw a fit.

btw Hello everyone I check this forum all the time for news but just today decided to finally register so I won't be a Lurker anymore Razz

ok, i feel the same way! i too want to get there early but i'm worried about showing up hours ahead and then getting denied front or second row bc of people taking shortcuts at the bar. but i'm not above taking said shortcut if it is the only way. i got royally screwed at the wiltern once in this manner and i was soooo not happy.

Same happened to me at the House of Blues. But especially with Bright Eyes fans, who are usually awesome and kind, I think if your first in line and everyone knows it people won't screw you over. I'm not worried about myself because I'm 21, I would just go in, buy someone a drink since I don't drink, and then head to the barricade and patiently wait lol But my friend isn't 21 so he would have to make his way up towards me if we were early

you should check the yelp reviews when planning your trip. They are pretty bad. and it seems like only a limited # of people get 'wristbands for the pit'. i haven't been so i can't say they do the 'early entry' thing for every show but there are a lot of angry paramore fans due to that situation. maybe they only do it for sold out shows where they know they can make some extra money.

You shouldn't worry about those reviews. I've been there twice and both times I experienced nothing like those reviews. The only bad thing we experienced was when it was pouring rain they moved the line and it screwed up everyones order but we still were really close. It's not a sold out show you shouldn't worry at all.
