I haven't posted in a really long time. But here's an update on what's going on:

One of the last times I posted, I mentioned that I'm pregnant. I'm now 37 weeks 6 days. The baby is a little boy! He has a lung problem but we've been keeping an eye on it since we found out about it in my 20th week. The cysts in his lungs have gotten so small, they can't see them. It doesn't mean they're not there but it's still a good sign. But because of the fact that he has a CCAM (Congenital Cystic Adenimatoid Malformation) they've decided to induce me at 39 weeks. So on the night of April 16th, I go in to have the process started. So my little boy will be born on April 17th unless I go into labor before then. I'm so excited to meet my little man!

I finally got a job. Woot.

Sure, it only lasts a week, but they're paying me close to what I was making before, which is pretty good for a temporary position. And the manager I know really likes me and has already discussed bringing me back into something more permanent after this assignment is done and after they see how I do. That, and the fact I was the only one they interviewed for the assignment, leads me to believe I have a good shot of working for them in the future.

----

Well, I guess when it rains it pours because I got another offer for Toyota this afternoon. It isn't a sure thing yet, but I have one last phone screen on Monday and I'm the only candidate they're screening. If that goes well they may need me to start on Tuesday and could last anywhere from a month to a year.

The only problem is that I already gave a verbal yes to the first job and they would need me to start Wednesday. I mean--Toyota is a better opportunity with better prospects for a longer stay, but it isn't a sure thing. And I think the first company is a lot more high on my experience/skills... even if they only need me for a week. It sounded like if that week goes well they could bring me back more permanently somewhere else.

I don't know what to do. I'm supposed to fill out paperwork tomorrow, which kind of ties me down in either situation. I've just never been in a predicament before where two companies wanted me at the same time and there really isn't a clear-cut better job.

I just accepted the job with Toyota.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to tell the job I was supposed to start Wednesday that I'm going with a better offer. Sigh.

Yeah, it's pretty cool after not working for 7 months.

I'm supposed to start next Wednesday, but it could be earlier. To be honest I'm not even exactly sure what I'll be doing. I didn't even have a proper interview. I just heard they liked my resume and then I had a ten-minute phone screen. I was made an offer right after that so I'm very unclear what my responsibilities are.

I just hope it's not running or maintaining the "laundry" room (for you How I Met Your Mother fans out there). LOL

At any rate, thanks for the well wishes.

I had an amazing happy day on my bike in SF last Sunday. So here is a photoessay tour.

Parked South of Market and stopped by the Giants game where you can watch for free at field level which you can see throught the fence'

In the channel beyond the park, many boaters and kayakers hang out during the game hoping for a 'Splash Hit'.

Rode past the Ferry Building along the Embarcadero.

Through Fisherman's Wharf where the sea lion's hang.

Then west toward the Golden Gate, where the was a sailboat regatta. Big picture, but worth it

Out to the Civil War era Fort Point. This pic is before they built the GGB

Where folks catch large swelss from the ocean

I got my feet in the water at Aquatic Park.

Had Irish Coffee at the famous Buena Vista pub. No cable car ride for me.

When to a classic car show at the Fairmont Hotel

Had a beer inside the lobby

Ate at a rooftop restaurant

Ended by watching a fire dance show at Union Square

Back through the downtown to where I had parked the minivan

Must have heard 20 different languages throughout the day

^ Damn, way to make me a little homesick for my Bay Area roots. Some great stuff there. Love me the Fairmont for a drink in a swanky hotel. I have a couple old time photos in my apartment of SF landmarks, and my favorite is an aerial shot of the Fairmont. Ah, good times.

Not in the least. But I have a lot of family in the North Bay, so I get in some quality time with the Golden State.

I just got word I got another pair of Comic con tickets which are sold out. So a little extra cash this summer. If anyone is interested in buying some comic con passes let me know.

also comic con is one month from today! as well as two month from fun activities and then three months from me being close or accredited to teach preschool and the end of my library internship.

Some friends decided to take me out tonight to celebrate the new job by going to Chronic Taco for some tacos (natch) and some beer pong. But I'll mostly be going for the plentiful free beer. It's been awhile since I had a night of just drinking. Plus, it'll be nice to drink with some proper villains again instead of the usual crowd of "stop at two beers" I'm usually hanging around.

Mojo agreed to let me stay at his place when I come down for 2 shows. Saves me from paying way too much for a nightmare hotel. High Five

Gonna see Beethoven's Violin Concerto at Holllywood Bowl and then this wacko band the next night.

Imbed not working, so here is studio and live version of same song that satirizes Burning Man.

Am I the only one on the board that has not stayed, or has no future plans, to stay at Mojo's pad? Very cool of you.

I was just telling some people that. Apparently, I've turned my place into a RK.net hostel.

Lately life has been good and bad. I feel this amazing high and then i get dragged down to reality. However this summer is going to be amazing for so many things. Today I had a nice chat with my favorite redhead, got my friends birthday present early, moving and most importantly i saw this:

http://sdccblog.com/2012/06/breaking-firefly-10th-anniversary-panel-at-sdcc-2012/

Firefly reunion panel. This is nerds biggest dream. A short lived series that has impacted more lives in 11 episodes than most shows do in 6 seasons.

Thank you life, keep the good times coming.

Ps. I have extra passes and vip access for any one interested in going to comic con that i might be selling.

boo, not happy because the band I planned this trip for canceled their date. After tough decision I'm not going to go now. I know I could have fun around LA, but can't really justify it considering that the show was the main reason.

I'll see ya sometime mojo - hopefully at something RK related.
