Woman Attacks Roommate With Butter, Cops Say
Sheriff's deputies in Collier County, Fla, say the 49-year-old attacked her male roommate with butter on May 21.
The incident occurred at some point before 6:46 p.m., when authorities arrived on the scene of a reported domestic disturbance and encountered the victim outside the home he shares with Rhash, according to an police report obtained by AOL Weird News.
The victim told deputies that he and Rhash "were having an argument about what food was hers and what was his" when the suspect "threw butter at him striking him in the leg," the document notes.
Deputies observed that the victim "did have butter on his ankle."

An Olympic hopeful accused of urinating on a fellow passenger during a cross-country flight has been kicked off the U.S. Ski Team's development squad.
Robert "Sandy" Vietze, 18, was aboard JetBlue Flight 166 from Portland, Ore., to New York's John F. Kennedy airport on Tuesday when he stumbled down the aisle to use the toilet. However, he didn’t quite make it all the way to the lavatory and instead emptied his bladder on a sleeping 11-year-old girl, the New York Post reports.
"I was drunk, and I did not realize I was pissing on her leg," Vietze, who told authorities that he had consumed eight drinks, was quoted as saying in the Post.

Wow.... this has got to be a joke?? I mean aside from the obvious- it's mad- there also used to be a British surrealist comedy group called Smack The Pony- they did this in one of their sketches. They had a bass player, a flautist and a ballerina who all lived together- the ballerina didn't eat much but was obsessed with HER food and especially her butter- they used to fight all the time- and one time she went NUTS about the butter.
I tried to find the clip on youtube- but i can't find it.

Italian police have arrested 20 gladiator impersonators in an undercover sting aimed at ending a violent racket operating around Rome's most famous tourist sites.
Police disguised as rival gladiators, dustbin men and members of the public raided the gang of seven families working with five tourist agencies.
The gladiator gang is accused of attacking and intimidating competitors for a lucrative business in which they collect up to $14 for having their picture taken with tourists in front of attractions.
The police officers disguised as gladiators were beaten up by the alleged criminal gladiators outside the Colosseum before other undercover officers swooped in.

A Cal State San Bernardino professor who allegedly led a chapter of the Devils Diciples motorcycle gang was charged Thursday with heading up a methamphetamine drug ring that involved several other dealers.
Stephen Kinzey, a 43-year-old professor of kinesiology, is considered a fugitive and is being aggressively sought by authorities, Sheriff Rod Hoops said at a morning news conference at sheriff’s headquarters in San Bernardino. Nine others involved in the drug ring have been arrested since Friday, he said.
“It’s alarming to me -- I have kids in college -- to have an associate professor who is a member of Devils Diciples dealing methamphetamine,” Hoops said. Authorities are trying to determine if he was involved any drug dealing on campus.

Bride arrested at her own reception gets probation.
Officers pepper-sprayed crowd at Arizona home where post-wedding party took place.
A judge sentenced 28-year-old Angela Davito on Thursday to six months of probation and four hours of community service for her conviction on a charge of attempted aggravated assault.
Police say officers had to restrain Davito on March 20 after she became disorderly at the suburban Phoenix home where her wedding reception was held.
Officers responding to a call found a large brawl in the backyard of the home and told everyone to stop fighting. But the commotion continued, and officers pepper-sprayed the crowd.
The crowd got angry and aggressive toward the officers, and police say Davito charged a partygoer and kicked an officer.

Woman Shot In Eye Finishes Beer Before Accepting Medical Treatment
Talk about one for the road.
The Winnipeg Free Press reports that authorities found a 30-year-old woman who, after being shot in the eye, refused to accept any medical treatment until after she finished her beer.
"It was like she was oblivious to what had happened," one source told the Free Press. "She didn't want any treatment until after she finished her beer."

I know the veracity of the report is questionable, but I had a cousin that was well on his way to this selfsame fate. Because of this I'm inclined to put my faith in the account.

| I don't doubt that there are people who eat nothing but fast food, or the same one or two things all the time. (In fact, I met one of them once. My friend's nanny only ate, like, 5 different things. I'm glad the baby was just eating breast milk at that point; god knows what kind of eating habits should would have passed on to him if he'd been eating real food by that point.) I just...I don't know. It seemed fake when I read it, and thinking about when exactly they did the photo shoot makes me wonder. |

My cousin was notorious for only ever eating fries, bacon, burgers, and pizza for almost the first ten years of his life. It was so bad that when we went out for Spaghetti Factory we always had to stop for McDonald's on the way home.

I really wasn't sure where to post this, because this news story makes me angry and sad, so it could've fit in those threads too. For those that are unaware, CU Boulder has had a long standing 4/20 gathering in the main quad that has swelled to rather large sizes in recent years. It's typically a peaceful gathering where people just hang out and spark up, but the administration has apparently had enough.

The University of Colorado today announced that it will close the entire Boulder campus to visitors on April 20 in its continued efforts to squelch the 4/20 pot smoke-out that in recent years has drawn more than 10,000 people to the Norlin Quad.
The closure, though, has ignited concerns from the Boulder County chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, which has requested that its state legal team review the legality of closing a public college campus.
Only CU students and employees will be allowed on the campus on April 20, and they will be required to show their Buff OneCard identifications to authorities.
Norlin Quad will also be closed that day to everybody, including students.
“The gathering disrupts teaching and research right in the heart of the campus,” Chancellor Phil DiStefano said in a statement."The size of the crowd has become unmanageable, and limits our faculty, staff and students from getting to class, entering buildings and doing their basic work. It needs to end.”
Those ticketed for trespassing could face up to six months in jail and a $750 fine -- stiffer than penalties for being busted with small amounts of marijuana.
But Judd Golden, chairman of the Boulder County chapter of the ACLU, said he has serious concerns about CU's tactics.
"It would seem as though this would make the young person wearing a tie-dye shirt on 4/20 more likely to be intercepted by police than somebody who walked on the campus with a coat and tie," Golden said. "The likelihood of selective enforcement seems significant."
Golden also said that as a public place, visitors should be able to come onto the campus, and the closure seems to be a violation of people's freedom of movement.
Golden said the ACLU has "legitimate concerns about this and what precedent it could set."
Boulder County District Attorney Stan Garnett has discussed April 20 enforcement operations with CU police officials and his office will handle the prosecution of those who receive tickets.
“As always, the District Attorney's Office will work to support the efforts of the CU Police Department,” Garnett said in a statement.
For those visitors who have tickets for CU events on April 20 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., or who are participants in academic meetings, symposia, conferences or other officially sanctioned activities, limited access to campus will be provided via a special registration program.
Visitors will check in at the CU-Boulder East Campus Administrative and Research Center at 3100 Marine St. They must register for this service at colorado.edu/april20 beginning at 8 a.m. Monday or by calling the CU information line at 303-492-4636.
After 6 p.m. on April 20, no special access to the campus is required, though visitors should be advised that traffic getting into and out of the campus is likely to be heavy. |
"Show me your papers" ought to be a popular phrase next week. There's no way they can logistically shut down the campus, but damn, fuck them for even trying. |

Man shot after eating face of another man (WARNING: Disturbing Details)

Miami police are still tight-lipped about the man they shot and killed on the MacArthur Causeway Saturday afternoon, but new details back claims they had no choice: the naked man they shot was trying to chew the face off another naked man, and refused to obey police orders to stop his grisly meal, which one source now claims included his victim’s nose and eyeballs.
Surveillance video taken from security cameras at the nearby Miami Herald building show a police officer arrive on the scene, appear to be startled by the spectacle of two naked men lying on the street, and draw his service weapon.
It appears that the officer shot one of the men, but it was difficult to tell in the video.
The bizarre shooting happened shortly after 2 p.m., when police responded to a 911 call about two naked men fighting on a bike path along the Causeway, which was packed with traffic on a busy holiday weekend.
Miami police have not confirmed the details of what happened next, but sources close to the investigation told CBS4 News that officers found one man gnawing on the face of another, in what one police source called the most gruesome thing he’d ever seen.
The fight was taking place at the causeway exit near the Miami Herald building, and amazed officers tried to stop it, ordering the man making a meal out of the other man to stop.
Armando Aguilar, who heads the local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police, said he has spoken with the officer who responded. Aguilar said the officer saw what the man was doing, and ordered him to stop. He said the man growled at the officer, and then returned to his meal.
Aguilar said the man ate his victim’s nose and eyeballs.
The officer then used his service weapon and shot the man, Aguilar said, but the gunshot had no effect.
Other sources confirmed that the man refused to obey, and continued his attack. Aguilar said the officer had no choice but to keep shooting until the attacker was dead.
Investigators sharing limited details about the confrontation, saying only that the two men were fighting and the officers felt they had no choice but to take deadly force.
“During this confrontation an officer did discharge his weapon striking one of the individuals, said Det. Willie Moreno, spokesperson for Miami Police.
But the sources close to the investigation say that dry recitation of the facts apparently doesn’t go far enough. They said the man still would not give in to police commands, so officers fired again.
“That individual has lost his life right now,” Moreno said.
With the attacker dead, lying nude on the pavement, officers and paramedics were able to get to his victim and rush him to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Police sources say the man had virtually no face and was unrecognizable.
Police have shared no information about his identity or condition.
The surveillance video supplied to CBS4 by The Herald under a news sharing agreement is disturbing. At one point, whomever was controlling the cameras zoomed in to the two men lying nude and partially obscured by the MetroMover track. One man is motionless, but the other, presumably the man whose face was attacked, can be seen flailing his legs, possibly in pain.
The Herald used video editing tools to obscure portions of that man’s body as he moved.
The video covers a time frame of about 8 minutes, but despite the shooting of the attacker and the obvious distress shown by the victim, paramedics are not seen attempting to rescue him.
The victim was eventually taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Once the bizarre confrontation came to an end, police were left with the task of figuring out what had happened. The investigation forced the closure of the causeway from Miami Beach to Miami, and also closed an exit to the causeway from I-95.
The investigation snarled traffic for hours and delayed thousands of motorists until ways could be found to get them off the causeway.
Police have had little official to say about the details, and have not released the name of the cannibalistic attacker.
But Aguilar said he believes the attack could be connected to a bad strain of LSD.
“This is about the fourth incident I hear already within our Miami Dade County area where these individuals have taken off their clothes and gone totally insane as a result of the drugs they’re taking,” he said. “I don’t know if there’s any such a thing as good LSD out there but apparently this is really bad LSD.”
He said the drug causes the person to strip off their clothing because their body temperature reaches such a high degree. He also said in many of the case the person is found growling, violent and trying to chew on others. |
