I'm listening to Babyface right now (through Chrome)... it works fine and I'm really enjoying it. First impression is that it's closer to "Dreamworld" than any previous Elected work I've heard, but that's not a bad thing.
Genuinely excited to hear this record, hoping for a UK show but won't hold my breath. Was a real moment of excitement to see the myspazz updated with the news today  |

Can any computer-savvy folks make this so we can download and save it and put in on a CD so we can repeat repeat repeat while driving these crazy LA streets?

wow, when i heard he recorded it mostly himself i was expecting a really lo-fi sound. regardless, i like this song and am very glad he's back!
p.s. did the board changes stop e-mail notifications? i'm 'watching' this topic, but i didn't get any e-mail about responses.

Cheers! This is such a positive review of the album. I'm dying to hear all of it already.
Oh, and I've made an mp3 (well, .aac, actually) of 'Babyface'. I recorded it with Audacity then converted it with Real Player so the sound may not be of best quality, but it should do in the meantime?

I like that he used the same synth sound that was in "Don't Blow It" and a few other songs.
Anyone else hear a female vocal part especially at the end? Anyone have any idea who that is?

I definitely hear the Talking Heads influence as well, and I love it! But unlike you, I love The Elected's past work (especially their first album). After hearing this single, I'm actually more excited about this than I was about the past two Jenny Lewis solo albums ("Acid Tongue" and Jenny and Johnny).
Honestly... I think she's at her best with Blake's musical talent backing her up. Wonder if we'll ever get that sweet combination again. :/
And to the person who said the production quality was surprising: He's produced albums before (the Grand Ole Party album comes to mind), so I'm not surprised it sounds so tight.
