am i the only one who's totally confused/intrigued that they have dates opening for PAVEMENT and SUPERCHUNK - two ridiculously important bands in indie rock? when this whole time, i've only ever heard jenny and johnny do country/folk duets? normally this would seem like a job for rilo kiley. and i mean early, indie-rock, the execution of all things rilo kiley. of course i may be thinking too much into it, and i'm sort of already sure i'll be pleased regardless, but i'm just really curious as to what this is going to sound like.

I'm hoping that it sounds like the version of "Just Like Zeus" they played on Minnesota Public Radio just over one year ago.

I concur with those who are glad that he cut his hair...not only was it really stringy and gross looking (well, sometimes) long, but he looks so much cuter when it's short!

I'm Having Fun Now has eleven tracks, and two of them are BIG WAVE and JUST LIKE ZEUS! Not sure yet if the other nine were ever played on the Acid Tongue tours. |

oh dang.
i do hope the studio versions they do have a backing band and it's not just the two of them. from jenny's tour i think the band versions sound so much greater than the stripped down ones from the beginning. |

I haven't listened to the live version of either track in a while, but just listened to the album versions and they sound VERY similar to the live ones. And there is a backing band.
ETA: I'm not meaning to sound like a braggy asshole. I got the CD in the mail yesterday 'cause I'm reviewing it for our fall issue and wish I could share it with all of you.  But, since they're sending out CDs at the moment and not watermarked streams, I wouldn't be surprised if it leaked pretty early. |

it's really awesome that you get to hear it! i hope it's good.
i remember this happening with UTB and people got really pissy about people having press copies. 
i can wait! it's not that long until it comes out anyway.

| I don't know what I can say! The Warner Bros. advances are scarier to me than advances from indie labels, all the warning signs and stuff. Ugh, I vaguely remember the UTB shit and regret saying anything. I don't mean it in a "neener neener neener!" way. I just got excited to see full-band Wave and Zeus on there and wanted to let you guys know. |

Thanks for the updates, and kudos for the self restraint. It's nice to see someone with some journalistic integrity these days. Enjoy the CD, we'll all hear it soon enough. |
