She's preforming "High and Low" on her American stops too--she did it last night in Seattle. She introduced the song as a "jam we've been working on" and said it was "about a cult". The song sounds teriffic live, with a real driving energy that's like classic honky tonk with a rock drive. Although I must admit I wish it would be on the American version. Why do so many albums have Japan only tracks? Something special about the Japanese market?

If anyone's on Dime, her Manchester set is up and this song is there. I haven't listened yet, so I don't know if the quality's any better, but they're flacs.

Edit: Download here if you want. I uploaded the flac and the mp3. The mp3's big because I haven't gone through and changed the bitrate/fixed the tags yet.

Edit: It's nice to see Jenny's been changing things up by playing Under the Blacklight, Rabbit Fur Coat, Happy, Highs and Lows, etc.!

Ooh, she's played a Rilo Kiley song? Interesting. I wish there was a thread for set lists.

P.S. Thanks for uploading the song! Now I just need the official track...

in one of the other threads, someone said that Japanese releases often get bonus tracks because CDs are so expensive in Japan. they throw out the bonus tracks to entice more buyers, apparently.

Anywho, I haven't actually listened to a this song really closely yet. I did watch the youtube video but I'd really like to hear a studio version!

Here's a link to the Japanese version http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=WPCB-10098

There are two bonus tracks on there, "Highs and Lows" and "Pelican Bay". It is a bit pricey on import though £16 or $25 USD.

I do, but the person who recorded said they don't want it distributed as mp3s...

I wouldn't doubt if it would be eventually.

The official lyric thing that came with my cd says:

Quote:
You're like a rolling stone on a treadmill
You're like a four-leaf clover on a battle field
It wasn't easy when a real cool face
Like a big nose on a pretty face
You've got a pony tail of thinning hair
Send a get-well card that showed you cared
and I'm sending out a search party
It's like Jonestown all over again

Ups and downs and there you go
It's the highs and lows of being number one

Is that a highball in your Sprite can?
It's a forgotten name from a one night stand
You're chin's a bobby pin of a sewing machine
Your eyes are flickering like it's Halloween
I'm sending out my sympathies
It's like Jonestown all over again

Ups and downs and there you go
It's the highs and lows of being number one

Is that a doctor's note for a heartache?
Or a poisoned cup from your OPA
It's like a compliment from your right hand
It's like Jonestown all over again

Ups and downs and there you go
It's the highs and lows of being number one

In the club it always hides the brick
The drums hide the fact that you can't sing

Ups and downs and there you go
It's the highs and lows of being number one

The recoding has a little talking part.

"Do you really mean that?
It's true I don't sit still
Do you really mean that?
_______"

can't make out the last line.

also, some things in the lyrics definitely don't sound like what she sang. I imagine with the recording style they did she might have fumbled on the words or they typed them wrong.
