I don't dream much. I remember them even less. Of course, I only get like three or four hours of sleep most days.

There's always something else I'd rather be doing than sleeping.

Last night I had this dream that I was very pregnant. And unlike any other pregnancy dreams I've had, it wasn't immaculate conception. This time the father was there, and he was something of a cross between my last ex-boyfriend, who called again last night and who I'm supposed to visit when I get back from San Francisco, and Calvin O'Keefe from the Madeleine L'Engle novels. And there was something about an elevator...and I was someplace very much resembling the basement (which we referred to as the dungeons) of my high school. But I was okay with being pregnant...except when the father kept coming over and poking me in the side.

I shouldn't have re-watched the pilot episode of Lost right before I went to bed, should I? Damn you, Claire.

EDIT: OH! And I also remember there was something -- maybe it was a different dream, but it was still last night -- about registering for an 8:30 class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, which I had to do all last year. And I'm really excited about not doing it this year because my only MWF class next semester is at 11:30. But anyway, the 8:30 classes bothered me a lot more than being pregnant. Or being poked in the side. It was downright scary, really...honestly, I felt trapped.

I know there is a separate thread for RK related dreams, BUT...

I had a dream last week that Jenny Lewis was playing this free concert series in Salt Lake for her new CD release. It was at this weird ware house eque place. I started out watching it from way in the back, sitting on this big wall. There were dividers up across the entire stadium/warehouse so it kind of looked like some kind of labrynth. Eventually, I saw Jonathan Rice sitting next to me, and when I was him I was all the sudden like "What the heck am I doing clear back here?" So I went up to the front. Then I ended up in this weird small room where Jenny was singing, and there were only like 3 people in there because everyone was waiting for her outside. So she was on this stage/platform, but kind of behind a wall/frame thing.

Yeah.

I had a dream I was on a sports TV show trying to avoid the hosts of the show. There was more to this (and another dream I had earlier in the night) but I was too lazy to grab my voice recorder to chronicle it.

I had a dream three nights ago that my best friend pushed me off the diving board into the deep end of pool. It sort of mirrored the first swimming lesson I took where the instructor did that exact same thing to get me over my fear of drowning in the deep end. In the dream, however, my friend pushed me off with the words, "I'm not going to save you any more," which I have no idea where those words were from. They weren't what my instructor told me, I know that for sure.

As a whole, the set-up and that one line made for one helluva symbolic dream.

I don't remember exactly what I was doing in my dream last night, but I do remember that I had a bunch of clothes that I wish I really owned.

Kim Cattral and I were unicycling through the woods at video-game speed to get away from her ex-boyfriend. Suddenly we were in the city and we pulled up to a fabulous building where she was apparently joining other Project Runway contestants (yes, she was a contestant in this dream) to listen to a speech from a former PR winner who turned out to be me. I gave the speech, got on a plane, went into what was apparently my home, but my boyfriend's mom was asking me to help her clean and his dad was telling me about his trip to Africa and his little brother was playing with a sock monkey.

No Clue

Yeah, I know. I probably have been able to remember under 20 dreams total in my life after I've awaken, but every single one I do remember is like the oddest thing ever (for example, my second grade class and I going on a field trip to a gas station via whitewater rafting and then being attacked by pirates).

I hardly remember any of my dreams either. It probably has something to do with getting four or five hours of sleep a night only.

If you stay in bed after waking up and close your eyes for a couple of minutes there's a good chance you'll remember (no sudden movements). I think an alarm is enough of a distraction though...

We have a dream like every 90 minutes, so most of us have at least 3 separate dreams every night

That may be the problem then. I pretty much go from the alarm waking me up straight to showering. In the last few years there's been maybe four or five dreams I really remember.

Yeah, my alarm goes off, I sit up straight, rub my eyes, and start the routine. That could be why I've remembered more this summer than I have in any past years- it's the first summer I've had where I haven't really had anything going on.

I tend to have vivid dreams, the kind that wake you out of your sleep because you're not sure they're real or not.

That happens a lot.

Have you ever had the one where you're not sure if you're really the person you seem to be or actually a 30 something guy who makes up pretend girls and you're really just one of them?
Cause that one freaks me the fuck out!

I also recommend either writing it down or speaking it into a tape recorder as soon as you wake up. I know if I wait even five minutes after I wake up I tend to forget a dream.

I had three or four that I remembered from last night, with all of them being scary and waking me up in the middle of the night. The most odd one involved my friends being lined up and beheaded in front of me. As soon as their heads were chopped off, a square cardboard box popped up upon their neck in place of their head. It wasn't necessarily gory (there was no blood) but it did wake me up.

Lately I've been waking up to the alarm on my iPod (because I'm ghetto and don't have a real one). For like the past two weeks, or so, the song I wake up to gets incorporated into my dreams. The dreams I have aren't really crazy or anything, but when my alarm goes off and the song starts playing, my dream ends and then it's like the credits at the end of a movie with my alarm song playing in the background. Like my dreams are movies. It's weird. I don't know if I explained that very well.

Last night I had a dream that I was at an art museum trying to see some Picasso paintings. I found one, but realized it was fake and that the real ones were upstairs. I got on a glass elevator to go upstairs and see the authentic paintings. However, instead of stopping at the second floor, the elevator kept rising and rising until it lifed out of the building and I was shooting through the sky. It didn't stop until I was in outerspace. I could see shooting stars and Earth down below me. Cr8zy!

Did you watch Willy Wonka before bed? Smile Actually, though, that's a really cool dream.

Two nights ago I dreamt I was outside at night trying to walk down a bunch of stairs. This was okay because there was a handrail, but when I got to the bottom I realized I had forgotten my cane at the top. I was wondering if I could make it back up to get it and still make it down again, but all of the sudden I was walking without it. Then I was running down a gravel drainage ditch, bouncing off the sides, splashing water everywhere. I'm trying to remember how it felt to walk without a cane, because I should be doing it in real life pretty soon.

I love when something in the real environment (people talking, a song, a tv show) become incorporated into the dream world.

That happens to me all the time. Usually it's my alarm clock which in real life turns into the telephone or something in the dream.

i had a dream recently i just remembered; i haven't returned my library book yet and it is long overdue, and in my dream i was sent a letter by the library saying that if i didn't return it a young boy in a suit was going to come to my door to get it from me along with my overdue fine of an incredulously large sum.

I had a dream a few nights ago in which the contents of my scooter trunk were stolen, but not the trunk itself or the scooter. Even though I knew it was a dream, for a good half hour after I woke up I was a bit on edge thinking that it'd actually happened.

A couple of nights ago, I fell asleep listening to one of those Ricky Gervais Podcasts and suddenly I was in his house. I kept talking about milk. He wanted to show me something in his room but I stayed back and started messing around with his fish tank. Suddenly it burst and there were piranhas all over the floor. I freaked out and woke up in a basement show. I think Best Friends Forever was playing, which was really weird because I just saw them last night (at a basement show)...but had not known about the show by that point. Then I woke up for real. kind of eerie.
